Important News About Expedition Enterprise 7.9


We are pleased to announce that the latest release of Expedition Enterprise is available on SupportNet.  We want you to be aware of important news concerning this release of Expedition because several significant changes have been implemented:




[*]We have officially changed the name of this release to Expedition Enterprise 7.9 or EE 7.9.  Going forward, Board System Division releases will no longer reference a given year.




[*]For at least the next 18 months, we are going to stay with the EE 7.9 release platform.  We have reached a level of stability with our EE flow so that we will be able to add incremental content to our core flow and the associated products without requiring you to completely migrate to a new version of Expedition.  To give you insight into our future releases, and to help you plan migrations, please see the planned content for the EE 7.9 service pack releases.




[*]With the release of EE 7.9 we are taking the next step to eliminate the ASCII export and import capability.  With EE 7.9 our Automation solution provides everything we believe is necessary to access and manipulate design data.  Specifically we have added Read / Write automation support for the Cell Editor, Padstack Editor, and Part Editor.  We have provided a PCB Automation Tutorial that describes basic programming techniques using the Expedition Automation interface as well as extensive how-to examples.  Online help within Expedition describes the Automation Interface and its capabilities.  Details>>>
